What is the Purpose of Human Resources Division?

To operationalise “People Strategy and Premier University of African Scholarship” into an Integrated Human Resources Plan which aims to transform lives and deliver greater results by:

  • researching and championing the development of Employee Engagement Programmes, which nurture Leadership Talent Pool for the University.

  • facilitating the translation of Employment Value Proposition and UKZN VALUES (R.E.A.C.H) into leadership roles and recruitment best practice.

  • enhancing the deployment of People Strategy through the introduction of integrated Management and Employee Self Services. 

  • enabling the employment relationship amongst all stakeholders through effective facilitation processes, as well as consultative and bargaining forums. “the conscience & principle guider of people processes”.

  • devolving and maximizing participation of Strategic HR Partnering Group into college and develop their capacity to provide equitable and consistent research-based Human Resources interventions.
