Reward Services 

Welcome to Human Resources Reward Services. The mandate of the HR Reward Services is to position the University of KwaZulu-Natal to optimise performance through effective and appropriate reward to its employees. In addition to being a department we see our area as a "practice" where each member continuously strives to gather information and skills necessary to improve our service offering and impact on the HR Strategy.

The Reward Services Department is made up three sub-departments that we see as "practices" dedicated to playing a core role in the HR pursuit to leverage the university in the tertiary sector as a preferred employer of choice. The practice areas are Remuneration, Benefits Human Resources Information Systems. The focus of Reward Services is to build and maintain substance-based relationships with employees through HR Strategic Partnerships and ensure transactional efficiencies whilst being strategically effective.

At Reward Services we believe in "silent running" where we know that our transactional processes are executed timely and correctly the first time whilst getting the job done. Critical to us is our mission to contribute to positioning HR Strategic Partnerships as trusted advisors to the university matters supporting peak-to-peak performance. Our client focus also allows us to engage HR clients directly through our Benefits Practice in an effort to educate employees further on benefits available to them within the total reward experience of each employee.

Our belief is that "behaviour that is rewarded is repeated".
